Trip to AFGRI (John Deere)

On the 5th of March the SLA Farm Campus embarked on a trip to AFGRI, 2 Hormes Road, Harare which is the leading Agricultural services and processing company as well as being the leading distributors of John Deere equipment. The AFGRI is the largest single John Deere franchise in Africa so it was actually a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to go there. The main intention for this trip was to increase the knowledge of agricultural equipment and how they work so as to prepare the students for their projects. Students got the chance to actually see the implements which they had been
learning about as well as experience the new technologies in agriculture The trip was a complete success! The students returned at around 3 p.m pregnant with knowledge and more than ready to start various projects. It was not only the innumerable amount of different equipment (to many, it was actually the first time to see some equipment) that made a difference, but also the hospitality and the patience of the workers who took their time to explain how each and every equipment works. It was such an honor for the Farm Campus students to commence on the fruitful, helpful and amazing trip.
